ABOUT ME
I provide individual, couple, and group sessions based on a foundation of trust, genuineness, and respect. I believe that everyone has the ability to grow if given an opportunity to be supported and counseled by a trusted psychotherapist. I work with clients in a warm and empathetic style that allows the client to increase his or her self-awareness, solve his/her personal issues and achieve healthier relationships.
With many years of training, education and experience, I am proficient in many theoretical orientations/schools of psychological thought, and I am well versed in utilizing a wide range of psychological interventions. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (M.F.T.) with a private practice in Orange County, California. I am a clinical member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and licensed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences (MFC # 39289). I hold a Master's Degree in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I work with indviduals, couples, families and adolescents addressing many issues including: relationship issues, depression, anxiety, work issues, survivors of abuse, family issues, addictions, life phase transitions, self esteem, dependency, male issues & loss/grief.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have an opportunity to be of service to
others on a daily basis. Working in
the healing arts is a truly wonderful way to contribute to my fellows and is
constantly challenging on an intellectual, emotional and spiritual basis.
My own journey and growth has provided me with the many different tools
that I have in my repertoire, and enables me to offer assistance to others in
both acquiring and practicing these tools themselves.
I continue to draw genuine excitement in exposing others to the
tremendously varied and deeply powerful world of recovery, growth, freedom and
personal development.
I always appreciate the
healthy skepticism and apprehension all individuals experience when embarking on
an endeavor such as counseling.
Therapy at times can be confusing, emotional and even overwhelming.
I have a deep and genuine respect for anyone with the courage to participate in the process of gaining insight. I derive my ability
to assist individuals in this activity not only from the hundreds of clients I
have had the privilege of working with, but from my own personal work as well.
This provides me with both an authentic empathy and ability to
experientially identify and relate to those I work with.
I highly advocate any individual take action towards his/her instinct
to participate in a new way of experiencing life.
If we are lucky, we can look
back and recognize many important periods of growth and transition, that although
difficult and confusing at the time, result in our further maturation and
personal development. Upon further reflection, we can recognize that these are
truly the most valuable and useful gifts we possess.
